Thick darkness

The lines have been blurred by blood.

Thick darkness the earth and thick darkness the people.

I hope we don't fade to black.

What's left when the light in us has turned to darkness?

2020, a year no one will forget, a new era is birth.

Many don't know this but it is only a foreshadow of the things to come.

Walk your walk, talk your talk and ,do your thing.

But never forget at the crossroads is where we'll all meet.

Prepare the way of the people, clear it of stones, raise an ensign.

The river flows and everything shall live where the rivers go.

You need light to see.

You need it to heal.

Depths of pain, the birth pangs.

The earth is about to give birth to mysteries yet unseen—

But ye chosen for the due seasons;

Arise and shine,

For it is time.

A friend in an unlikely place.

Dedicated to Ajibola🌼  Quiet, modest, reserved– these are the words I would use to describe you.  We've known each other for five years, I remembered the first time I got to know you. It was at camp, at an hostel. It was a popular story building having a wide spaced compound. There were about four identical structures in that building. I had gone over there to see a mutual friend, and fellow departmental mate.  It was morning, my sister and I were both sitting outside, by a pole of some sort admiring the sky.  We were so surprised to see you but it was a pleasant surprise. We didn't know we would get to meet anyone else we knew here.  I think you even greeted us first.  You were different from what I had originally thought. This was around 200l. As opposed to being someone who liked to keep to themselves, you were easy to talk to. For the first time, I asked for your name and you told me, AJIBOLA.  I later got to know that other people know you by a d...

Prompt 4: Gehenna

Prompt: Pick a name, a place, thing and an emotion and write a short horror story about it. Name: Silas. Place: Gehenna. Thing: A nail. Emotion: Grief. Dedicated to Peculiar Praise❤ ****** There was groaning, wailing and gnashing of teeth. At this point, he was too tired to scream. There was no sense of time here. He didn't know if he's spent a week here or a thousand years. There was no reprieve, no rest and worst of all, there was no water. His tongue had shrivelled up. His mouth felt like sandpaper. He was amid the red and yellow flames, enduring torture for the rest of eternity. The worst part about Gehenna is that you never forget your crimes, but you always remember them. That regret coupled with the toture was enough to make any man mad. Silas used to be a wealthy man, from a well-to-do family. As though that wasn't enough, in his greed he sought for powers beyond him, powers money couldn't buy and ended up signing several binding contracts. One...

Far, far away (A song).

Dedicated to Phaserprime(Monijesu) ❤️ We live far away.  We're from far away. Now I know this land ain't mine.  This place ain't mine.  Were from far away. Now we're living as strangers, in a foreign land.  When will we go home? Everybody's telling me that I've overstayed my welcome, welcome. Even I know this ain't my home. I know that I'm from, far away.  Yeah. I'm from far away.
